Universal to General Requirements Transition
Updated over 4 months ago

In August of 2024 we are transitioning Universal Requirements into General Requirements. Our current solutions had limitations that included an inability to enter multiple values per field, inability to use and/or relationships, and inability to exclude fields - we have enhanced all of these features and more! The webinar below goes into details on how we've enhanced Universal Requirements into General Requirements, a more robust and versatile method of scoping your requirements to automatically attach to students and programs.

This recording from August 3, 2024, reviews the new General Requirement scoping tool and compares it to previous functionality in Universal Requirements. Below the video are the questions that were asked during the recording.

Questions and Answers from the Webinar

  • Will we be able to have multiple versions of universal audits instead of having to make multiple versions of the same requirement?

    • We aren't supporting multiple versions of General Requirements, BUT one General Requirement can be attached to multiple versions of SIS program audits. I believe this should accomplish the same type of thing that may be needed.

  • How are the existing universal requirements going to be impacted by these changes?

    • We will automatically convert all of your Universal Requirements to General Requirements. There have been some changes to logic for a few filters - for anyone that is having their data impacted, your Stellic rep will be contacting you within the next few days if they haven't already.

  • What is the timing of the changes, should we talk to our contacts or will they talk to us when ready?

    • The rollout will begin next week on August 12, and we will coordinate with you on the timing if there is a specific concern that you have - otherwise, all partners will receive this feature by August 19.

  • Can you put multiple levels?

    • Students, yes - programs, no. Stellic only supports one level per program, so we do not support adding multiple levels to the scope for this field.

  • Where will we find the documentation/details for this update?

    • We are working on updating our Knowledge Base and will have the documentation available by Monday.

  • Does this transition impact "double counting" rules?/Would any of the functionalities allow for mass "manual satisfying" General Requirements?

    • There have been no changes to the Requirement Editor functionality, we are only touching the scope aspect - so determining how the General Requirement can apply has changed, the progress aspect has not.

  • Is there any plan in the future to use the "include/exclude" feature for filtering student info?

    • Yes! We will use several of the features included in these filters in future development. We'd love your input on these filters so that we can make adjustments to this and future features as we go!

  • Will there be an easy way to see all students with the general req. applied to them via student search filters?

    • We'll look into providing an easier way to do this in the student search interface, but we will plan on including a way to access all students that apply to a General Requirement shortly after this feature launches from directly within the General Requirement UI.
