Search Basics

As you navigate within Stellic, you will see one search box on the top right menu and additional search boxes on each of the various tabs, such as Students and Programs.

The search bar on the top right menu searches throughout the entire platform and will produce results across student names, programs, and courses.

The search bars located within specific pages, such as the Students page, Programs page, or Courses page, will search only content related to the page. In other words, the search bar located on the Courses page will only search your keywords within the context of Courses.

For information on saving and tracking search results, please visit our article on Saved and Tracked Reports.

Student search

By default, the Students tab displays all students that you have the permission to view. As you select filters, the number of students displayed will change to reflect your search results. You can combine filters to narrow your search to a specific subset of students, such as students majoring in Mathematics BS with a CGPA above 3.5.

The search will automatically default to a list view, with the student GPAs and progress bars displaying. You can change these views by clicking on the dropdown menu to select different options for display, or toggling between list and card view.

You can also choose several different sort options.

Searching for multiple students

If you would like to search for multiple students by username at once, you can toggle the Student search from Keywords to Student Usernames. You can then paste a list of student usernames, separated by comma, space, or semicolon.

The dialogue box will expand to accommodate multiple usernames. When searching for students, you must use the primary Stellic username. Stellic will not be able to search by individual student names or secondary IDs when searching for multiple students. In this example, we pasted a list from a spreadsheet.

You can then use this results list to create a Manual report. (Read more about Saved and Tracked Reports here.)

Generate Student Report: Export to CSV

You can generate a CSV export of student data.

Start by using the search filters and checkboxes on the left of the student search results to narrow down your list of students to your desired results. Then click the Actions button and select Generate Report. You will then be presented with a variety of elements you can choose to include in your CSV export.

Print PDF Audit Report

You can also print an audit report of your search by clicking the printer button. This will generate a printable audit report for each student you have selected from the search results.

You can choose between the Official and Planned versions of the audits. You can also choose between Standard (similar to the on-screen display) and Compact (easy-to-scan table) versions of display. You can also choose whether or not to include grades and exception details.

If you print a single student's audit, you will also have options to include and exclude specific programs.
