Student Registration
Depending on your institution, the registration process will look different in Stellic. Your school has one of three registration methods, each with its own workflow.
Three registration methods
Direct registration: With this method, you can complete your entire registration process within Stellic. You'll search for classes, add them to your schedule, and officially register for them all in one place.
Shopping cart to SIS: This method allows you to select courses in Stellic and add them to a shopping cart. When you're ready to finalize your registration, you'll be directed to your school's Student Information System (SIS) to complete the process with your selected courses.
Schedule planning only: With this method, Stellic helps you plan your ideal schedule, but actual registration happens separately. You'll need to search for and add the same courses in your school's SIS to complete your registration.
Before proceeding, check with your advisor to identify which method your school uses so you can register successfully.
Register for classes
If you already have all your selected and planned courses, it’s straightforward to register for classes. If you need to add more courses or search for courses, see Add Courses.
Navigate to your institution's Stellic login page and sign in with your credentials.
A Registration Open banner appears on your homepage when registration opens at your institution.
Click Plan and Register to begin registering. The Plan Your Path page opens.
From the Plan Your Path page, navigate to the upcoming semester you need to register for. A blue Registration box appears.
From the Registration box, select Go to schedule. Your schedule opens.
From the schedule view, all your registered courses and planned courses appear in your tentative schedule.
From the right Courses panel, you can view which courses you have planned which you need to register for. Once selected, you can choose specific class sections.

Click on a course tile to view available sections.

Option 3: Search for classes based on your free time block
On your schedule, click and drag a free time block to the right schedule panel to find all courses with sections during that time range.
Make sure to double check the seat availability and schedule conflicts to avoid registration issues.
Optional: You can also add more courses to your schedule for registration by clicking Add Courses.

Important: Depending on your institution, you might need to complete registration outside of Stellic in an SIS. Once you confirm your registration, you’ll be redirected there to register. If you don’t register outside of Stellic, you are not fully registered.

Manage course enrollment during add/drop period
During the add/drop window, you can modify your course enrollment directly within Stellic. This guide explains the available enrollment management actions you can take with your registered courses.
Note: These options might not be available to you depending on your school's Stellic implementation. For help, contact your advisor.
To access enrollment management options:
Log in to your Stellic account.
Locate a course you're currently enrolled in.
Click on the enrolled course to view available actions.
Drop a course
Availability: The Drop action allows you to remove yourself from a course. All institutions with direct registration have this feature available:
Click on an enrolled course.
Select Drop from the available actions.
Confirm your decision when prompted.
What happens:
Your enrollment status is immediately updated in both your SIS and Stellic.
The course moves from "Registered" or "Enrolled" status to "Planned" in your Stellic schedule.
Your seat in the course becomes available to other students.
Swap courses
The Swap action lets you exchange one course for another in a single transaction:
Make sure you're enrolled in Course A.
Add Course B to your planned schedule.
Click on Course A in your enrolled courses.
Select Swap Course from the available actions.
Choose Course B as the replacement course.
Confirm your decision.
What happens:
Course A is dropped from your schedule.
Course B is added to your schedule simultaneously.
Both your SIS and Stellic are updated with these changes at the same time.
You don't risk losing both courses during the swap process.
Drop if enroll
The Drop if Enroll action provides a safer way to attempt enrolling in a popular course:
Make sure you're enrolled in Course A.
Add Course B to your planned schedule (this typically would be a full course).
Click on Course A in your enrolled courses.
Select Swap Course from the available actions.
Choose Course B as the replacement course.
Confirm your decision.
What happens:
If Course B has open seats, you'll be enrolled immediately and dropped from Course A.
If Course B is full, you'll be added to the waitlist for Course B.
You remain enrolled in Course A until you clear the waitlist for Course B.
If you eventually clear the waitlist, the system will automatically drop Course A and enroll you in Course B.
Both your SIS and Stellic will update simultaneously when the swap occurs.
Important: Always check your institution's add/drop deadlines to avoid potential academic or financial penalties.
Understand course waitlists
When a course section you want to register for is full, you may have the option to join a waitlist. This places you in a queue for a seat if one becomes available.
Note: Your institution must support waitlists for this feature to be available. If you’re unsure, check with your advisor.
How to join a waitlist
When attempting to register for a full course:
Select the course you wish to add.
If the section is full, you'll see a waitlist option.
Follow the prompts to join the waitlist.
Confirm your position on the waitlist.
Depending on your institution's settings, you may need to actively opt in to join the waitlist when a class is full.
What happens when a seat opens up
The enrollment process varies based on your institution's SIS. If you’re unsure about your institution's SIS, contact your advisor.
For PeopleSoft schools
When a seat becomes available and you're first on the waitlist:
You will be automatically enrolled in the course.
No further action is needed on your part.
Check your schedule regularly to confirm your enrollment status.
For Banner schools
When a seat becomes available and you're first on the waitlist:
You will receive a notification that a seat is available.
You must take action within a limited time to claim your spot.
If you don't respond within the timeframe, the seat will be offered to the next student.
How you'll be notified:
An email will be sent to your school email address.
A notification banner will appear on your Stellic homepage.
Your options
When notified of an available seat, you can:
Accept the seat: Click the provided link to complete your registration.
Decline the seat: Reject the offer and allow the next student to claim it
Important: Monitor your email and Stellic account regularly while on a waitlist to avoid missing notifications.
Note: If your institution supports waitlists and there are no seats available for a registered section, you can be added to the waitlist. Depending on Institution preference, you need to opt into joining the waitlist if the class is full.
Why can’t I register?
When you receive a Hold on your account from your Institution, it shows up in Stellic as a red banner at the top of each page.
These Holds can sometimes prevent you from completing registration on Stellic. You need to resolve this hold outside of the Stellic platform. Once it is resolved, you need to wait for the next nightly sync for that hold to be lifted.
Need help?
If you encounter any issues during the registration process, please contact your academic advisor or the registrar's office for assistance.
