Student View Permissions

Learn more about the different levels of permissions that exist within Stellic for viewing student information and profiles.

No Student View Permission

This is the default permission for admin users in Stellic. Users with this permission:

  • Land on the Programs page when logging in

  • See Programs as the first option in the sidebar (rather than Students)

  • Can access Analytics if enabled, but only with limited usefulness

  • Cannot view individual student records

Student Profile-View Permission

Users with "profile-view" permission can access:

  • Basic student information (username, email, entry year, campus)

  • Student notes (view shared notes with appropriate visibility and add new notes)

  • The Requests tab, where you can see requests to and from students

This permission does not include access to the student's academic information such as declared programs or registered courses.

Student Plan - View Permission

The "plan-view" permission provides access to:

  • Student profile information

  • Declared programs

  • Advisor information

  • Interests

  • Currently registered courses

  • Academic planner (without grade information)

  • Notes which have been explicitly shared

Grade information and GPA are not visible with this permission level.

Full View Permission

The standard "view" permission provides comprehensive access to:

  • Complete student profile

  • GPA information

  • Degree audit (progress)

  • Student plan

  • Courses with grades

  • Any workflow requests in which the student is enrolled

  • Notes and all notes that have been created with the default visibility setting
