Pathways are example templates for students or advisors, showing how a program or combination of programs could be completed, with courses laid out by term. This can help students plan term by term, rather than just showing them the list of all classes needed. You can find Pathways from either the left menu or the top menu, and you can filter by Program type.
Note: Pathways can show students the recommended sequence of courses, but do not enforce that sequence. Stellic does not currently enforce sequencing.
Once you select a Pathway to view, you can see courses laid out by year and term.
You’ll be able to see which audit the Pathway applies to, and if it will auto apply. You can also change the visibility (public or private), and apply to students.
The toggle of private/public determines if a student is able to find that Pathway when they are exploring. So, until a Pathway is set to it is Public - students cannot find it. This setting does not effect admin ability to see the Pathway though. All admins have access to see all Pathways and that is currently not something we restrict. Permissions do restrict the ability to create/edit/publish them.
You can edit the Pathway from this view, by dragging and dropping or manually adding or removing courses. You can find more information on Pathways in Building a Pathway.
If a Pathway is set to 'Auto Apply', the courses will automatically populate in a student's planner view. This will only populate for students that fit into the template criteria. Students can add, remove, and move courses from their planner, even when applied via Pathway. All courses applied via Pathway will show a 'recommended' tag.
If a pathway is set to 'Auto-Apply,' it will automatically populate for eligible students as well as future students with the given criteria. 'Auto-Apply' cannot be undone by the Stellic user, but it can be turned off by the Stellic team.
