Adding Courses to Your Plan

Updated this week

Overview

The Plan your Path tab in Stellic displays your remaining degree requirements and helps you organize classes into terms. The system alerts you about missing prerequisites and suggests classes based on your interests. Your transfer courses appear at the bottom of this view.

The Right Sidebar

The right sidebar offers several ways to view your requirements and plan:

  • Remaining: Lists unfulfilled required courses and placeholders, saved courses, and activities

  • Progress: Displays completed, planned, and unfulfilled program requirements

  • Search Courses: Search for specific course codes or filter eligible courses by dozens of criteria

Working with Course Sections

Finding Available Sections

To find available sections for a course, you need to first select a campus and term:

  • The campus dropdown will always default to your assigned campus

    • Clicking it will only display the other campuses that have offered this course

  • The term dropdown will default to the current active term

    • Clicking it will only display currently and likely offered terms

    • You can click ‘Show all terms’ at the bottom of the dropdown to see all future terms

  • You will see a ‘Not offered’ label if there are no sections available for your selected Campus and Term

Browsing Available Sections

  1. Open a course to view condensed section previews

  2. By default, only sections with available seats display

  3. Click Expand below the section list to see all sections, including full ones

Filtering Sections

Narrow your options using these filters:

  • Topic: Find sections covering specific course topics

  • Units: Select sections offering your desired credit amount

  • Sub-term: Focus on sections during specific parts of the term

Working With Multi-Component Courses

  1. Identify multi-component courses by the banner above the first group of sections

  2. When you select a primary component (e.g., "Lec 002"):

    • Stellic automatically selects a linked component (e.g., "Rct 301") if available

    • The section list updates to show only components valid with your initial selection

    • Click on any other valid section to change your selection

Working With Linked Courses

  1. Identify linked courses by the blue banner above the list of sections

  2. When you select a section of a linked course:

    • Stellic automatically adds all linked courses to your plan

    • Related courses will appear in your plan for the same term

    • Removing the primary course removes all linked courses

Change a Course Section

  1. Locate your course in the right sidebar

  2. Click the dropdown arrow to view all available sections
